Every drip is prescribed for you individually and made up just before it is given.
What to expect
-
Book online
Choose your drip and where you would like it. The full price is shown upfront. -
Health check
Answer a short questionnaire. A prescriber reviews it before your booking is confirmed. -
Checks first
Your nurse takes your pulse, blood pressure and temperature. -
The drip
A small cannula goes into your arm and the drip runs for 30 to 45 min. -
Checks after
Your nurse repeats your observations, removes the cannula and you are on your way.
With a full litre of fluid, you will probably need the loo soon afterwards. That is completely normal.
Who it isn’t for
- Heart failure, or if you have been told to limit your fluids
- Kidney disease
- Pregnancy (please speak to us first)
How often: as agreed with your prescriber.
Why people book it
- After a long-haul flight
- After a late night, if you are struggling to keep drinks down
- Before or after a big race or event
These are reasons clients give us, not promises of results.
What the evidence says
Strong for dehydration · limited otherwiseIV fluids are well proven for treating dehydration. For people who are not dehydrated, there is no good evidence that a drip hydrates you better than drinking water.
If you are not sure a drip is right for you, ask us. We may suggest a blood test or your GP instead.
